Bowen Huang
Bilingual Actor&singer
As a 24-year-old young woman from Chongqing, China, I have always had a passion for performing since a young age. However, I didn’t have the courage to chase my dreams until I was a 17, who was still a Liberal Studies major in NYU.
Currently based in NYC, I just finished my BFA in Musical Theater at Emerson College and am planning on to be a versatile industry professional.

“BOWEN HUANG SHINES AS STUNNING NÜWA IN AN INTENSE, SAGE AND SYMPATHETIC PERFORMANCE. SPOKEN IN BOTH CHINESE AND ENGLISH, HUANG IS EXPRESSIVE, PASSIONATE, BRAVE, AND EMPOWERED WITH A WONDERFUL CHARISMA AND ZEALOUSNESS CONVINCINGLY DRAWING OTHERS TO HER PLIGHT IN AN UNFAMILIAR PLACE.”
about me
As a child, I was captivated by theater, especially after seeing "Cats the Musical." This fascination evolved into a desire to pursue a career in the arts. In high school, while struggling with depression, I found solace in musicals online, which prompted me to reconsider my academic path.
After deciding to attend NYU, I prepared for New York by taking acting classes and joining theater clubs, despite feeling out of place. My hard work led to acceptance at both the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and Emerson College's BFA Musical Theater program.
At both institutions, I honed my skills and participated in performances that addressed social issues, engaging with Boston’s Asian American theater scene. Looking forward, I aim to blend performance with social justice, using my talents to inspire others, especially in my hometown, where theater is less known.
